Polish Soldier Dies in Warsaw After Medical Emergency

A Polish Armed Forces soldier died in Warsaw’s Targówek district yesterday evening after collapsing while driving his car.

Tragic Incident on Targówek Street

Emergency services were called to Księcia Ziemowita Street in Warsaw’s Targówek district last night regarding a man in a Mazda who had lost consciousness while inside the vehicle.

The man was extracted from the car, and CPR was performed on-site for over an hour, but efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.

Soldier Identified, Military Police Take Over

Initial findings indicate the deceased was a soldier in the Polish Armed Forces and was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Paramedics and police responded to the scene, but after confirming the man’s identity, the Military Police (Żandarmeria Wojskowa) assumed control of the investigation.

The Military Police’s involvement is consistent with their statutory responsibilities, acting as a specialized service within the Polish Armed Forces with powers similar to the civilian police when dealing with military personnel.

Confirmation and Ongoing Investigation

Lieutenant Colonel Tomasz Wiktorowicz, Press Spokesperson for the Mazovian Branch of the Military Police, confirmed the incident and the transfer of the case to the Military Police.

Necessary procedures were carried out at the scene, and further investigation will be led by the prosecutor’s office.

The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, and the exact cause and circumstances of the man’s death are currently unknown.
