Drunk Driver Crashes into Pole and Barriers, Trapped in Vehicle

A driver crashed a Peugeot into a light pole and barriers on Aleje Jerozolimskie in Warsaw’s Ochota district at 5:09 AM, requiring rescue.

Initial Collision and Rescue Operation

At 5:09 AM, a Peugeot driver collided with a gantry pole and barrier elements on Aleje Jerozolimskie near Blue City in Warsaw’s Ochota district.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to extricate the driver from the wrecked vehicle, as he was unable to exit on his own.

Medical Examination and Alcohol Level

After being freed, the driver was transferred to paramedics and transported to a hospital.

A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.65 per mille, confirming the driver was intoxicated.

Emergency Services Response and Traffic Disruption

Two fire crews from JRG6, a city operational group, a medical rescue team, and the police were involved in the response.

One lane of traffic was blocked during the operation. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
