Car Collision on S7 Blocks Traffic, Driver Trapped

A two-car collision on the S7 highway near Czosnów on March 24th resulted in one driver being trapped and significant traffic delays.

Collision Details

On Tuesday morning, March 24th, two passenger cars collided on the S7 route in Palmiry, Czosnów municipality (Nowy Dwór district). The accident resulted in injuries to one driver and caused major traffic disruptions towards Gdańsk for several hours.

Emergency Response

Rescue services received a report of the incident at 06:51. Four fire departments from Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Łomna, and Czosnów, along with a medical rescue team, police, and the GDDKiA road service, were dispatched to the scene.

Accident Location and Vehicle Details

The collision occurred at kilometer 338 of the S7 highway, near the intersection with Przykościelna Street, in the Gdańsk-bound lane. Witnesses reported that two cars were involved, each with only the driver present.

Driver Rescue and Transport

One of the drivers was trapped inside the damaged vehicle. Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to access the driver, provided first aid, and then handed the injured person over to the medical rescue team for transport to the hospital.

Preliminary Investigation Findings

Preliminary police investigations indicate that a 39-year-old Jaguar driver failed to yield at a traffic light and forced his way into the path of a 49-year-old Opel driver. The Opel driver, who sustained bodily injuries, was transported to the hospital. Police confirmed the 39-year-old driver was sober.
