A tragic F‑16 fighter jet crash during training over Radom, Poland, has led to the cancellation of the Radom Air Show and a full refund program for ticket holders scheduled to attend the event.

Statement from Air Show Radom Organizers

The organizers of Air Show Radom 2025 released a statement after 23:00 UTC on Thursday, expressing deep sorrow at the loss of Major Pilot Maciej “Slaba” Krakowiak, leader of the F‑16 Tiger Demo Team. They conveyed their condolences to his family and close friends. The announcement also confirmed the decision to cancel this year’s edition of the air show due to the tragedy.

In a separate communication released Friday morning, organizers assured buyers that ticket money will be refunded within 14 calendar days from the cancellation date. Refunds will be processed in the order tickets were purchased and will use the same payment method originally employed for the purchase.

F‑16 Crash at Radom Airport

The crash occurred on Thursday evening, after 19:00 UTC, when an F‑16 fighter jet collided with the ground during a training exercise preceding the scheduled weekend air show. Two investigative bodies – the prosecutor’s office and the Aviation Accident Investigation Committee – are conducting independent inquiries to determine the cause and produce a comprehensive report with recommendations.

Polish Vice‑Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz stated on Friday that full support is being extended to the pilot’s family and highlighted the importance of a thorough investigation to prevent future incidents.

Prosecutor’s Office: Initial Actions

The Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office announced on Thursday evening that preliminary legal procedures have already begun, handled by the Military Affairs Department. Military Police representatives are on site. Further details will be released during a conference held in Radom tomorrow afternoon.
