U.S. and Israel Reportedly Strike Iranian Nuclear Facilities

U.S. and Israeli forces reportedly attacked two nuclear-related facilities in Iran, targeting heavy water production and uranium processing, according to Iranian sources.

Attack on Khondab Heavy Water Facility

Iranian state media reports that the first attack targeted a heavy water facility in Khondab, northwest Iran. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) stated there were no casualties as a result of the strike.

The Khondab facility, including its reactor, was also reportedly targeted by Israel in June 2025.

Ardakan Uranium Production Facility Targeted

The second attack reportedly hit a production facility in Ardakan, Yazd province, Iran. This facility produces uranium ore concentrate, known as “yellowcake,” an early stage in uranium processing.

IRNA reported that no radioactive materials were released outside the facility as a result of the attack.

U.S. Claims of Iranian Rocket Arsenal Damage

Reuters reports that U.S. officials claim to have destroyed approximately one-third of Iran’s missile arsenal. The information comes from four anonymous U.S. sources.

The sources indicate the fate of another third of Iran’s arsenal is unclear, but that bombing raids likely damaged or destroyed missiles stored in underground tunnels and bunkers.

Discrepancy with Trump’s Statements

These reports of significant remaining Iranian missile stockpiles contradict earlier statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who claimed Iran had “very few rockets” remaining.

Potential Consequences of Further Action

Analysis suggests that if Donald Trump were to occupy the Iranian island of Khark, the consequences would be felt globally.
