A 46-year-old man aggressively attacked vehicles with a wooden beam in Warsaw on Monday evening, then threatened officers.
Incident at Poniatowski Bridge
The incident occurred on Monday evening, April 30th, under the Poniatowski Bridge in Warsaw. Police from the Wilcza Street precinct received reports of an aggressive man damaging cars with a wooden beam, shattering windows.
Suspect Apprehended
Police officers subdued the aggressive man and took him into custody, transporting him to the precinct headquarters. He was tested for alcohol consumption, with results showing he was sober.
Damage and Threats
Officers discovered several damaged vehicles with hazard lights activated. According to mł. asp. Jakub Pacyniak of KRP Warszawa I, the man was extremely aggressive towards everyone, including police officers, refusing to drop the wooden beam and threatening to kill the intervening officers.
Financial Losses and Investigation
Police estimate the damage caused by the incident to be in the tens of thousands of zlotys. Victims and witnesses have been questioned. Police determined the threat posed by the man was significant, and the case is being overseen by the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office.
