Iranian Retaliation: U.S. Bases and Amazon Data Center Targeted

Following escalating tensions, Iran launched retaliatory strikes targeting U.S. facilities in Iraq and a data center belonging to Amazon in Bahrain.

Retaliatory Attack on U.S. Facilities

An attack on a U.S. facility at Baghdad airport caused a fire, but no injuries were reported, according to two Iraqi sources cited by AFP.

Since February 28th, amid the ongoing conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and other American installations in Iraq, including military bases, have been repeatedly targeted.

Iraqi militias backed by Tehran are typically identified as the perpetrators. The U.S. embassy in Baghdad warned on Thursday morning of potential attacks by pro-Iranian groups within the next 24-48 hours, renewing its call for Americans to leave Iraq.

Iran Targets Regional Infrastructure

Iran has been conducting retaliatory strikes against Israel and countries in the Persian Gulf region for over a month, in response to U.S.-Israeli strikes.

These strikes have targeted both U.S. bases and civilian infrastructure.

Amazon Data Center and Jordanian Base Hit

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Thursday that it had struck an Amazon data center located in Bahrain as retaliation for U.S. actions. They also reported a drone attack on U.S. fighter jets at Al-Azrak base in Jordan.

The extent of damage and any casualties from these attacks remain unconfirmed.

Bridge Destroyed in Iran, Potential Future Targets Listed

Thursday’s strikes on Iran resulted in the destruction of a bridge under construction on the route from Tehran to the city of Karaj, west of the capital. Local authorities reported two fatalities.

U.S. President Donald Trump posted footage of the bridge’s destruction on his Truth Social platform, describing it as the largest bridge in Iran. The IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency published a list of potential future targets, including bridges in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.
