Prosecutors Could ‘Fall Unconscious’ From F-16 Crash Investigation

Initial examinations of F-16 wreckage have been delayed after experts found potential chemical hazards requiring specialized intervention.

Chemical Hazards Found in F-16 Wreckage

Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesperson for the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, revealed that the investigation into the F-16 crash has been prolonged due to the discovery of certain components which may pose chemical hazards. This discovery required the involvement of specialists to ensure safe handling of the wreckage.

Special Teams Called to Assess Wreckage

The prosecutor noted that military jets like the F-16 often contain elements that could release hazardous materials. The decision was made to bring in a specialist team equipped with protective gear to safely handle the wreckage. Skiba elaborated, “If the fuel tanks were breached, the prosecutors might simply pass out” from exposure to hazardous materials.

New Evidence Emerge From Crash Site

In a previous report, the Warsaw prosecutor’s office also revealed that investigators found a personal camera belonging to Major Maciej “Slaba” Krakowian, the pilot who died in the crash. The camera’s contents will be analyzed as part of the investigation though it may take some time.
