Petru Demands Investigation Committee on Nawrocki Laws

Polish MP Ryszard Petru, from the Polska 2050 party, calls for a parliamentary investigative committee into President Karol Nawrocki’s vetoes, particularly on a renewable energy act.

Vetoes of Key Laws

Nawrocki, who has been in office for two weeks, has already vetoed seven laws, including the renewable energy act, Ukrainian aid act, and amendments to the “Lex Kamilek.” These laws protect children and fight sexual crime.

Kwiatkowski’s Response

Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski commented on the vetoes, stating: “It seems the President is following the strategy of ‘worse, the better.’ I’m not completely surprised, but those who took the monetary bet might be, including the President’s efforts to lower energy prices by a third which turned out contrary to expectations.”
