Polish parents must submit applications for the “800 Plus” child benefit by April 30th to ensure uninterrupted payments starting in June 2026.
Application Deadline for 2026/2027 “800 Plus” Benefit
The new period for the “800 Plus” benefit begins in June 2026, but parents must complete the necessary formalities beforehand. Failure to submit an application by April 30th may result in a gap in payments.
Benefit Continuity and Retroactive Payments
Parents and guardians receiving the “800 Plus” childcare benefit must be aware of important deadlines. The date an application is submitted to ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) affects both the continuity of payments and eligibility for retroactive compensation for previous months.
If an application is received on May 15th, the parent will receive retroactive payment from June to the end of July. If submitted on July 5th, payments will be made from July onward, without retroactive compensation.
Simplified Application Process for Returning Applicants
Parents and guardians who applied for the “800 Plus” benefit for the 2025/2026 period can now easily create a new application. The mZUS application will automatically populate data from the previous application, which can be edited as needed. Similarly, in eZUS, if children are registered for health insurance, the application wizard will retrieve their data, including PESEL (national identification number) and date of birth, eliminating the need for manual entry.
This mechanism speeds up the application process, minimizes errors, and ensures the continued payment of benefits.
“800 Plus” Benefit Amount and Proportional Calculation
The basic amount is 800 zł per month per child. For incomplete months, ZUS calculates the amount proportionally, dividing 800 zł by the number of days in the month and multiplying by the number of days the benefit applies to. The result is rounded up to the nearest 10 groszy.
Late Applications and Potential for Retroactive Payments
ZUS acknowledges that even late applications may be eligible for retroactive payments. This means that late applications do not completely deprive a parent of funds, but only cover periods within the timeframe allowed by ZUS.
How to Apply for the 2026/2027 “800 Plus” Benefit
Applications must be submitted electronically only. Payments are made exclusively by bank transfer to the designated account. All notifications and correspondence are conducted electronically – via email, SMS, or within the application, even if documents were submitted in another format.
Why Apply as Soon as Possible?
Delaying the application may result in interrupted payments. It is safest to submit the application by the end of April 2026 to ensure continuous payments and that the “800 Plus” benefit is deposited into the account without any issues.
