Beginning April 10th, entry to the Sopot Pier will require a fee, though some groups will retain free access to the landmark.
Sopot Pier to Implement Entry Fees
Starting Friday, April 10th, admission to the Sopot Pier will be charged. The city authorities have decided to maintain ticket prices at the 2025 level.
A regular ticket will cost 10 zł, while a reduced ticket will be 5 zł. Residents with the Sopot Card will have free access to the pier.
Fee Schedule and Exemptions
Marek Niziołek from the Sopot City President’s Office announced on Thursday that admission to the pier will be charged from April 10th to September 30th.
Free admission, in addition to those with an active Sopot Card, will also be granted to children under three years of age and people with disabilities under the age of 26.
Discounts Available
Individuals possessing a Tourist Card will receive a 20 percent discount on tickets. Traditional discounts will also be available for seniors, families, and groups, according to Marek Niziołek.
Ticket Purchase Options
The Sopot city authorities emphasized that to avoid queues at the ticket offices, tickets can also be purchased from ticket machines before entering the pier, online at molo.sopot.pl, and at Sopot tourist information points.
Pier Dimensions and Construction
The pier has a total length of 511.5 meters, with 458 meters extending over the water and the remaining section over the beach. The widest part of the pier, entirely over the beach, is called the “patelnia” (pan).
The width of the pier varies from 10 to 26 meters, not including the lower pontoons used for mooring vessels.
The wooden structure is based on pine piles with a diameter of 30 to 60 cm, driven into the seabed to a depth of 5 to 12 meters. The decking is made of pine boards 6 cm thick, 15 cm wide, and 440 to 780 cm long.
