Wrocław serial rapist concludes prison sentence

Convicted of approximately 20 rapes and attempted rapes in Wrocław, Andrzej Ś. will be freed from prison within days, prompting his transfer to a special behavioral disorder facility.

Previously reported by Gazeta.pl, the director of the prison where Andrzej Ś. served his sentence filed a petition in 2020 requesting his classification as a danger to society, allowing for potential transfer to the Gostynin facility.

Judicial Process

The case went to the Bydgoszcz District Court in March, which ultimately decided that he should be relocated to the facility. However, despite his disagreement with this decision, on June 25, the Gdańsk Appellate Court upheld the Bydgoszcz court’s ruling.

Transfer Details

In accordance with the court order, the Gdansk Appellate Court has sent a copy of the rulings from both the District and Appellate Courts, along with an order for the prisoner’s acceptance into the facility upon completion of their sentence.

Gostynin Facility

Established under the 2013 law, the Gostynin facility is designed for individuals considered dangerous, offering therapeutic programs.
