Motorcycle Collides with Mercedes in Włochy District; Rider Hospitalized

A 47-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a collision with a Mercedes exiting a preschool in Warsaw’s Włochy district.

Collision on Ryżowa Street

A motorcycle and a Mercedes collided on Ryżowa Street in Włochy, Warsaw, around 8:45 AM on Monday, April 20th. The 47-year-old motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital following on-site medical assistance.

The incident occurred during morning rush hour, a common occurrence in the area. Preliminary investigations suggest the motorcyclist was overtaking slow-moving traffic when the collision occurred.

Circumstances of the Accident

The Mercedes was pulling out from a preschool and attempting to turn left. A Citroen van reportedly yielded to the Mercedes driver. Simultaneously, the motorcyclist was overtaking stationary and slow-moving vehicles.

Investigators believe the Mercedes driver extended too far into the lane occupied by the motorcyclist, leading to the impact. All drivers involved were confirmed to be sober.

Emergency Response and Traffic Disruption

Firefighters, paramedics, and police were dispatched to the scene. A witness provided initial aid to the motorcyclist before emergency services arrived.

Ryżowa Street was closed in both directions during the rescue operation and police investigation. Bus lines 129, 178, 187, 191, 401, and 517 experienced disruptions and were rerouted via Aleja 4 Czerwca 1989r, Aleje Jerozolimskie, and Łopuszańska/Kleszczowa.
