Heavy Storms Expected in Eastern and Southern Poland, Says IMGW

Residents in several eastern and southern Polish regions should prepare for severe storms with rainfall expected up to 30mm in some areas, according to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW).

Weather Conditions for Wednesday, September 3

On Wednesday, meteorologists predict low to moderate cloud cover throughout most of the country. The south and east may see slightly more clouds, with light breaks. Temperatures will range from 19-21°C near mountainous regions and the coast to 23-29°C in central and southwestern areas, with maximum temperatures of around 25°C in the center.

Expected Storms in Southern and Eastern Poland

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management forecasts storms in eastern and southern Poland. These storms may be accompanied by hail and strong winds reaching up to 75 km/h. The forecaster predicts rainfall between 10mm and 30mm, with the highest amounts in the southeast.

Warnings have been issued for the following Polish counties: Biała Podlaska, Chełm, Krasnystaw, Zamość, Hrubieszów, Tomaszów, Biłgoraj, Lubaczów, Przemyśl, Rzeszów, Jarosław, Przeworsk, Leżajsk, Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krośnie, Brzozów, Jasło, Gorlice, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Ustroń, Bielsko-Biała, Cieszyn, Żywiec, and Suszec.
