Biography and Early Life
Piotr Andrzejewski was born in 1942 in Warsaw. He is a former senator and vice-chairman of the State Tribunal who gained attention for his outburst during a session on September 3, 2024, when he shouted at previously banned judges and shoved a chair as he left the room.
Education and Professional Career
Andrzejewski graduated from the Warsaw University with a law degree. He then completed his judge and lawyer apprenticeships. In 1971, he began his practice in Warsaw.
Political Affiliations
From 2005 to 2011, he ran for the Senate as a citizen’s candidate from the PiS party. In 2024, Andrzejewski joined the Citizens’ Support Committee for Presidential Candidate Karol Nawrocki.
Opposition Activity in the PRL Era
According to Senate records, Andrzejewski served as a legal consultant for the Inter-Enterprise Strike Committee at the Huta “Katowice” foundry in negotiations with the government commission in August-September 1980. In the name of the aforementioned committee, he filed the first application for registration of the Independent Self-governing Trade Union “Solidarity” in the Warsaw Provincial Court. After the imposition of martial law, he also defended clients in political cases.
