During his visit to China, Vladimir Putin proposed a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky if he travels to Moscow. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybih emphasized that “these are serious proposals and President Zelensky is ready for such a meeting at any time.”
Putin’s Statement in China
Speaking in Beijing, Putin reiterated Russia’s demands for Ukraine to abandon NATO integration, recognize Russian jurisdiction over the occupied territories, and take Moscow’s interests into account for security guarantees. He declared, “If common sense prevails, it is possible to achieve an acceptable way to end the conflict in Ukraine.”
