Poland is bracing for a remarkably warm and sunny May 1st holiday weekend, with temperatures potentially reaching 28°C in some areas.
Warmth Arrives from the West
Dorota Pacocha reported that current mid-term forecast models indicate exceptionally warm and sunny weather during this year’s May holiday, as warmer air flows in from the west.
Friday, May 1st: Coolest Day of the Holiday
Friday, May 1st, will be the coolest day of the holiday weekend. Most of the country will experience sunny conditions and no precipitation, though more clouds are expected in the south, with a possibility of light rain mixed with snow, especially in the mountains.
Maximum temperatures will range from 15-17°C in the north and northeast, around 16-18°C in the center and south, and up to 21°C in the western half of the country.
Saturday, May 2nd: Even Warmer
Saturday, May 2nd, will be cloudless and dry across the country. Temperatures will exceed 20°C in most areas, with cooler conditions expected in the far east and foothills around 18°C. The warmest temperatures, ranging from 24 to 27°C, will be in the center and west.
Sunday, May 3rd: Continued Sunshine, Potential Showers on the Coast
The final day of the holiday also promises sunshine across most of the country. Pacocha noted that slightly more clouds may appear on the coast, and isolated showers are expected in the west.
Elsewhere on Sunday, May 3rd, conditions will be clear and dry, with temperatures remaining above 20°C. Temperatures will reach approximately 26-28°C in the west and center, 24-25°C in the north, and up to 23°C in the east and south. Coastal areas will be cooler, around 15-18°C.
Weather Change Expected After the Holiday
Synopticians predict a change in the weather following the May holiday, largely due to the arrival of a precipitation zone in Poland.
