Konin residents heard a series of three loud explosions around 9:35 am, causing windows to shake in the city and neighboring Kole. Local authorities have attributed the incident to military aircraft passing the sound barrier.

Police have confirmed that three military aircraft from the Polish Armed Forces were flying over eastern Wielkopolska during the incident. The aircraft were passing the sound barrier, causing the characteristic boom that residents reported.
