Man Threatens to Bomb Prosecutor’s Office and Assassinate Police Chief, Faces Up to 5 Years in Prison

A 37-year-old man from Tychy allegedly threatened to bomb the prosecutor’s office and assassinate the city police chief, prompting a rapid police response and potential terrorism concerns.

A threatening message was sent to the Tychy City Police, containing plans to assassinate the local police chief and attack the prosecutor’s office. The sender vowed to bomb the building, revealing that toxic gas including sarin had been ordered through a dark web marketplace.

Police acted swiftly, identifying the culprit within hours. Local and Central Bureau of Combating Cybercrime officers conducted searches and collected evidence with the assistance of specialty units.

Suspect Arrested and Charges Filed

Michał B., a 37-year-old city resident, was charged with making criminal threats targeting both the police chief and the prosecutor. He denied guilt but provided explanations. A court ordered a three-month temporary arrest, and he faces up to 5 years in prison.
