Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed concerns over Poland’s airspace being breached twice this week, promising a “decisive response” and warning of serious consequences for any future provocations.
PM Tusk’s Strong Statement
During a Friday press conference in Lomza, Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed concern over the breach that occurred between Wednesday and Thursday night. He emphasized that Eastern Poland’s need for security, including allied military presence, is greater than in some other regions.
Warning of Consequences
“Every individual who dares perform such provocation must contemplate the prospect of serious consequences,” Tusk stated. “This includes diplomatic, national, and military actions.” He added that anyone breaching Poland’s airspace would face immediate military response.
Air Force Response
Poland’s military confirmed that the airspace was breached twice Wednesday night, under their full control. General Wieslaw Kukula, Chief of the General Staff, explained that Poland significantly bolstered its air defense forces, with the Netherlands’ F-35 fighter jets participating in recent operations. He described their involvement as a “game changer.”
