A 64-year-old driver lost control of his Mercedes G-Class on Nasielska Street in Pomiechówek on Thursday morning, colliding with a Scania truck carrying scrap metal.
Accident Details
On Thursday, May 7, after 11:00 AM, a Mercedes G-Class and a Scania truck carrying scrap metal collided on Nasielska Street in Pomiechówek, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki county.
The Mercedes crashed into a ditch, while the Scania’s trailer overturned, spilling its cargo onto the roadside.
Emergency Response
Police and firefighters from the Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki Rescue and Firefighting Unit responded to the scene. The Mercedes was removed by a tow truck, but the Scania and its overturned trailer required a specialist tow truck for removal.
Operations at the scene concluded shortly after 1:00 PM.
Investigation and Findings
The 64-year-old Mercedes driver from Warsaw and the 45-year-old Scania driver from Nasielsk were both sober and uninjured, leaving their vehicles on their own.
Police determined the Mercedes driver failed to adjust his speed to road conditions, resulting in a fine and penalty points.
