Former Polish Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro appeared in the United States on May 10, 2026, following reports of high-level lobbying and the potential use of a journalist visa.
Arrival in the United States
Former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro is currently in the United States, according to media reports released on the morning of Sunday, May 10, 2026. His presence was confirmed by photographs taken at Newark Airport in New Jersey.
Telewizja Republika was the first to report the news, followed by tvn24.pl, which published the photographs confirming his arrival in the US.
Lobbying Efforts in Washington
According to findings by Onet, the US administration was initially skeptical about Ziobro’s entry into the country. However, the situation reportedly shifted over time.
Patrycja Kotecka and former TVP president Jacek Kurski, along with politicians linked to the Law and Justice (PiS) party, are alleged to have lobbied Washington to facilitate the former minister’s entry.
The TV Republika Connection
Reports from Wprost suggest that Ziobro may have secured legal entry into the US by obtaining a visa as a collaborator or journalist associated with Telewizja Republika.
When asked for comment, TV Republika editor-in-chief Tomasz Sakiewicz did not explicitly confirm or deny the reports, stating only that the station would present its own position at a later date.
End of Hungarian Protection
Ziobro remains a primary subject in an investigation concerning irregularities within the Justice Fund. He had previously been reported to be under the protection of Viktor Orbán’s government in Hungary.
This situation changed following a shift in power in Budapest and the appointment of Peter Magyar as Prime Minister, leading to the end of Ziobro’s protection in Hungary.
