Iran Responds to US Peace Proposal While Vowing Decisive Military Action

Iran has transmitted a response to US peace proposals via Pakistani mediators while simultaneously ordering its military to maintain readiness for decisive operations against American and Zionist forces.

Diplomatic Channels and State Responses

Iranian state media reported Sunday that Tehran has delivered a response to US peace proposals through Pakistani mediators, though specific details were not disclosed. Pakistani sources indicated that the two nations are close to reaching an agreement.

President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on X that dialogue or negotiations do not signify surrender or withdrawal, emphasizing that the objective remains the determined defense of the Iranian people’s rights and national interests.

Military Directives and Readiness

Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued “new directives” to armed forces commander Ali Abdollahi, ordering the continuation of “decisive military operations” against the enemy.

Abdollahi affirmed that the armed forces are prepared for confrontation with American and Zionist enemies, promising that any adversary error will be met with a “fast, harsh, and decisive” reaction. Mojtaba Khamenei assumed the political and spiritual leadership of the country in March following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, in the early days of the war.

Warnings Over Persian Gulf Security

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the parliamentary foreign policy and national security committee, warned the United States against further attacks on ships in the Persian Gulf, stating that Iran’s restraint has ended as of today.

Rezaei asserted that any attacks on Iranian vessels will trigger a strong response targeting American ships and bases. He further characterized the US peace proposal as a “wish list” rather than a reflection of reality.

US Pressure and Regional Tension

Chief negotiator Mohammad Ghaber Ghalibaf claimed that recent US actions are designed to force Iran’s surrender and destroy the country’s cohesion. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump threatened to resume bombings if a deal is not finalized.

Despite a truce in effect since April 8, the Strait of Hormuz remains largely blocked, affecting oil and gas trade. Reports of mutual attacks between the two sides continue to emerge around the waterway.
