Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Almost Entire Poland

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for most of Poland, with forecasters predicting strong winds, hail, and potential power outages.

Alert Issued

On the evening of September 5 and into the early hours of September 6, widespread severe thunderstorms are expected across almost all of Poland. These storms may be accompanied by strong winds and localized hail.

Impacted Regions

The alert affects 11 regions: Warmian-Masurian, Łódź, Mazovia, Podlasie, Holy Cross, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Lesser Poland, Subcarpathia, Pomeranian, and Silesia.

Storm Development

According to Polish Storm Chasers, on Friday afternoon, Poland will be affected by “mass convection leading to the development of numerous thunderstorm cells and even supercells.” These storms may bring dangerous conditions including winds of up to 90-100 km/h and heavy rainfall of up to 30-35 mm/h.
