Operatives from the Warsaw Włochy Police Station and the Ochota District economic crime unit have seized over 1,700 illicit electronic cigarettes, resulting in the arrest of a 34-year-old suspect.
Police Operation Against Illicit Tobacco Trade
Officers from the Warsaw Włochy and Ochota departments conducted a joint operation targeting the illegal sale and distribution of tobacco products and e-cigarettes. Following an analysis of gathered intelligence, police identified a location in the Włochy district suspected of storing and trading goods in violation of current regulations.
Evidence Seized and Legal Proceedings
During the search, officers recovered a significant quantity of e-cigarettes, liquids, and related accessories, all of which will serve as evidence. The 34-year-old Sri Lankan national arrested at the scene was taken into police custody for further processing.
Fiscal Loss and Charges
The total seizure included 1,783 electronic cigarettes lacking Polish excise tax stamps. The state treasury incurred losses estimated at over 220,000 PLN, and the suspect will now face charges under the Penal Fiscal Code.
