Cyclist Struck on DK48: 62-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital

A 62-year-old cyclist was severely injured after being struck by a car on National Road 48 in Sieciechów on Thursday evening, May 14, and was subsequently airlifted to a Lublin hospital.

The accident occurred around 8:00 PM outside of a built-up area in Sieciechów. A 27-year-old resident of the Kozienice district, driving a Mazda toward Sieciechów, struck a 62-year-old cyclist traveling in the same direction.

Emergency services provided immediate medical assistance to the victim at the scene. Due to the severity of his injuries, the man was transported to a hospital in Lublin via an Air Ambulance helicopter.

Investigation into the Accident

Police confirmed that the 27-year-old driver of the Mazda was sober at the time of the incident. Officers secured the scene and conducted forensic examinations to gather evidence.

The Gniewoszów Police Station is currently leading an investigation to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the collision.
