During a meeting with residents of Sokołów County, Karol Nawrocki detailed his diplomatic rapport with Donald Trump, confirming the U.S. President’s promise to increase American troop deployments in Poland.
Promises of Military Support
Nawrocki recounted his initial visit to Washington, where he claimed Donald Trump personally pledged that there would be no reduction in American forces in Poland, potentially even increasing them. He highlighted this as evidence of a serious relationship.
Beyond military commitments, Nawrocki noted that Trump invited Poland to the G20 summit and successfully facilitated the release of Andrzej Poczobut from a Belarusian prison following a personal request.
A Strategic Alliance Built on Results
Describing the U.S.-Poland relationship as central to the nation’s economy, technology, and security, Nawrocki argued that their cooperation produces tangible results. He emphasized that allies must be able to disagree while still fulfilling their mutual obligations.
Critique of German Relations
Nawrocki expressed frustration regarding Germany’s stance on EU hegemony and the issue of war reparations. However, he cautioned against insults toward foreign leaders, contrasting his approach to diplomatic friction with what he termed the irresponsible rhetoric of certain Polish politicians.
Practical Implications of the Troop Increase
Donald Trump recently announced via social media that the U.S. will send an additional 5,000 soldiers to Poland, citing his support for Nawrocki as a contributing factor. The logistical implementation of this deployment is expected to be determined through upcoming discussions between the Polish Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, and U.S. European Command leadership.
