Minimal Support for Jobseekers Over 50

Employment support for workers aged 50 to 60 remains constrained by limited funding, offering a maximum of 2,403 PLN gross per month for employers alongside a primary focus on retraining programs.

Limited Subsidies for Employers

One of the most effective tools for re-entering the workforce after age 50 is the annual subsidy provided to employers hiring individuals between 50 and 60 years old. This support reaches up to 2,403 PLN gross per month.

Employers value this form of assistance, as the amount represents 50 percent of the 2026 minimum wage of 4,806 PLN. Unfortunately, the current budget allocated for this program is insufficient to meet demand.

Emphasis on Retraining Initiatives

Given the scarcity of wage subsidies, the primary form of government support for those over 50 remains vocational training. These programs are designed to facilitate professional recalibration for older workers.

These opportunities are available not only to the officially unemployed but also to those registered at local labor offices as jobseekers, including currently employed individuals and retirees. Access to these resources requires a formal application for funding.
