A serious collision involving an ambulance transporting a patient and a Lexus occurred Saturday evening in Wiśniew, resulting in multiple injuries and triggering an emergency response from the Air Ambulance Service.
Crash at the Intersection
The accident occurred shortly before 7:00 PM on National Road 63 at the signalized intersection near Siedlecka Street in Wiśniew. An ambulance, traveling with its lights and sirens active, collided with a passenger vehicle.
Injuries and Medical Response
Three people were in the ambulance, with the transported patient and one paramedic sustaining injuries. The Lexus was carrying two occupants; one required hospitalization, while the other received medical attention at the scene.
Emergency Operations
Emergency services, police, and an Air Ambulance helicopter were dispatched to the site. Although the helicopter landed nearby, it was not ultimately used for transport; all injured parties were moved to hospitals via ground ambulances.
Police Investigation and Traffic Impact
According to Police Press Officer Ewelina Radomyska, initial findings confirm the ambulance was utilizing emergency signals at the time of the collision. National Road 63 was fully blocked while officers investigated the circumstances and managed local traffic.
