A 57-year-old elementary school teacher has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after a Zamość court confirmed his conviction for sexual offenses against a young student.
The Investigation and Charges
On September 23, 2025, the Zamość District Prosecutor charged a teacher with two counts of crimes against sexual freedom and decency. While authorities withheld specific details to protect the victim and ensure proceedings remained closed to the public, Tygodnik Zamojski confirmed the victim was a student at the school where the man worked.
Evidence and Admission of Guilt
Investigators secured electronic devices containing correspondence between the teacher and the student, along with evidence that the defendant attempted to delete messages. Forensic analysis also included telecommunications data and surveillance footage.
Initially denying the allegations, the teacher later confessed during subsequent questioning, expressing remorse for his actions and offering to provide restitution to the victim.
The Final Verdict
The Krasnystaw District Court issued an initial sentence on January 21, imposing two years and eight months in prison. The ruling included an eight-year restraining order and a lifelong ban from any profession involving the education, care, or medical treatment of minors.
On May 28, the Zamość Regional Court upheld the conviction on appeal. While the two charges were merged into one for legal classification, the prison sentence and professional bans remained unchanged. The verdict is final.
