Warehouse Fire Engulfs Płock Facility

A large service and storage hall caught fire on Rembielińskiego Street in Płock, forcing mass evacuations and prompting local authorities to issue urgent health warnings for nearby residents.

Fire Under Control

Smoke from the massive blaze was visible across the city until dusk. The Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw reported overnight from Monday to Tuesday, June 2, that the fire has been brought under control and is no longer spreading.

Emergency Response and Evacuations

The facility, measuring approximately 80 by 100 meters, is situated near other commercial buildings, a gas station, and a residential block. Six people were evacuated from the building immediately, along with staff and patrons from a nearby restaurant and dozens of residents from the adjacent apartment block. Officials have yet to confirm the contents of the warehouse or report any injuries.

Public Safety Measures

In response to the hazard, the Płock City Hall Crisis Management Department issued an SMS alert advising residents in the Wielka Płyta and Śródmieście districts to keep their windows closed due to smoke.

Recent Fire Incidents in the Masovian Region

This incident follows other recent fires in the region. On May 28, a major forest fire broke out in Międzylesie, affecting 300 hectares and requiring the efforts of 1,300 firefighters, 335 vehicles, and military air support to contain. Additionally, on May 31, firefighters in the Sokołów district successfully extinguished two separate forest fires in Nowa Wieś Kosowska and the Ceranów and Noski areas.
