Vacant Building Engulfed in Flames Again in Marki

A vacant structure on Zajączka Street in Marki caught fire early Wednesday morning, marking the second such incident at the same location following a previous blaze in June 2025.

Nighttime Emergency Response

The fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, at a vacant building on Zajączka Street in the Wołomin district. The flames engulfed the wooden upper structure built upon a brick foundation.

A total of five fire brigade units were dispatched to the scene, including one team from the State Fire Service in Wołomin and four units from local Volunteer Fire Departments in Marki, Radzymin, and Zielonka.

Extinguishing and Demolition Efforts

Upon arrival, firefighters initiated suppression efforts using water jets. Once the main fire was controlled, crews proceeded with demolition work and mop-up operations to expose and extinguish smoldering hot spots within the damaged structure, preventing a potential reignition.

History of Fire Incidents

The operation lasted several hours, and no injuries were reported, as the building appeared to be unoccupied at the time. This structure was previously targeted by a fire on June 13, 2025, which similarly destroyed the wooden portion of the building and required the intervention of five fire units.
