A 49-year-old man drowned in a private pond on his property in Wola Starogrodzka on Thursday after entering the water while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Fatal Incident in Garwolin County
A tragic event occurred in Wola Starogrodzka, located in the Garwolin district. A 49-year-old man entered a pond on his property and failed to return to the shore. Following a two-hour rescue operation, firefighters recovered his body from the water.
Rescue and Recovery Operations
Emergency services received the report around 3:00 PM. Several fire brigades, including a specialized water-diving rescue unit from JRG 1 Warsaw, were dispatched to the scene. The pond, measuring 25 by 25 meters with a depth of 3 meters, was searched until the victim was located.
Investigation and Safety Warnings
Police are conducting further investigations under the supervision of a prosecutor to determine the exact circumstances of the death. Authorities have issued a renewed appeal for caution, emphasizing that even domestic ponds pose significant risks to those who have consumed alcohol.
