Drone Attack in Sochi
Gubernator Kraju Krasnodarskiego Wieniamin Kondratjew reported that Ukraine carried out a drone attack in the region. The attack resulted in the death of a Sochi resident, with debris hitting a car and six apartments damaged.
Russian Media Speculation
Russian media speculated that President Vladimir Putin might have been present in the city at the time of the attack due to his residence in Sochi. Putin recently joined a BRICS conference from a Black Sea resort.
No Change in Schedule
Kremlin spokesman Dmitrij Pieskow confirmed that despite the drone attacks, Putin’s schedule remained unchanged. Putin last visited the resort in November 2024 for a Valdai Club speech, spending only one day there and sleeping on the plane.
