33-Year-Old Charged with Drowning Child in Boiling Water for Punishment, Faces Life in Prison

A 33-year-old man from western Poland has been charged with assaulting and attempting to kill his stepchild, facing up to life in prison. The man allegedly scalded the child in boiling water.

Abuse and Violation of Rights

The 33-year-old allegedly abused the child from September 2022 to December 2024 in Krosino, West Pomeranian Voivodeship. He subjected the child to verbal abuse, hair-pulling, and other punishments including locking him in blankets.

Brutal Punishment

On December 31, 2024, after the child’s mother had left the house, the 33-year-old allegedly placed the child in a bathtub filled with boiling water. Initially claiming the child had accidentally fallen in, he later admitted to doing so as punishment.

Medical Consequences

As a result of the incident, the child suffered burns ranging from second to fourth degree on hands, legs, abdomen, and face. Subsequent skin grafting surgeries were required, with the child facing a “prolonged illness, endangering his life and causing substantial disfigurement.”
