Polish 2050 Party Loses Another Member: “It’s Harder for Me to Reconcile”

Jacek Bury, a former senator representing Szymon Hołownia’s grouping in Lublin, has left the Polska 2050 party, citing disagreements with the party’s leadership and direction.

Reasons for Leaving

Jacek Bury, who had been with the party for five years, announced his departure on September 16, following in the footsteps of Tomasz Zimoch and Izabela Bodnar, who left in August and July respectively.

Bury stated that his decision was driven by the party’s actions, which he believes have strayed from the values he holds dear.

Statement from Jacek Bury

In a statement, Bury expressed his disappointment with the party’s current direction, saying that the “political reality” had proven to be a “painful experience.”

He emphasized that he had always believed in new projects, but the party’s focus on “practical management and organization” rather than ideals was unacceptably.

Reflections on Polish Politics

Bury also reflected on his decade-long involvement in local and national politics, expressing frustration with the emphasis on popularity and personal gain over values and merit.

He noted that many political groups, including Polska 2050, eventually succumb to the same patterns as established parties, prioritizing their own interests over the greater good.
