Polish Government Outlines Priorities: Four Key Pillars

On September 19, the Polish government, through Minister Maciej Berek and government spokesperson Adam Szłapka, unveiled its priorities for the coming months, focusing on 58 key tasks.

Government’s Priority Areas

The Polish government has identified four main pillars for its upcoming initiatives: “Safe Poland, Safe Poles,” “Energy and Economic Security,” “Innovative and Competitive Economy,” and “Efficient State and High-Quality Public Services” along with “Modern Digital State.”

Safe Poland, Safe Poles

This pillar includes the development of drone technology, with the establishment of the Unmanned Systems Inspectorate by the end of next year and drone laboratories in selected units. The government also plans to expand the “Tarcza Wschód” project and civil protection programs, allocating 17 billion PLN for these efforts in the next year.

The focus is also on ensuring energy security, particularly with the aim of protecting the Polish electrical system from blackout threats. The government is working on freezing electricity prices until the end of 2025, a law that has been adopted by the Sejm and awaits the President’s signature.

Innovative and Competitive Economy

This area of focus includes the construction of the Central Communication Port (CPK), development of nuclear energy, and simplification of tax law. Investments in infrastructure are also planned to revitalize the Polish railway system.

Efficient State and High-Quality Public Services & Modern Digital State

The government aims to restore the rule of law and increase the number of places in nurseries. A reform in the education system, termed “Reform 2026,” is planned, which includes providing teachers with well-prepared curricula and methodological guides.

In the area of digitalization, the government plans to support entities using artificial intelligence in business, science, and public administration. The mObywatel system is expected to have around 15 million users by the end of 2027.
