Aggressive Passenger Arrested After Vandalizing Bus and Insulting Police

Mokotów police officers have arrested a 59-year-old intoxicated passenger who shattered a bus window and insulted officers, later discovering the suspect was already wanted to serve a prison sentence.

Incident on the Bus

The incident occurred in the Mokotów district, where police were dispatched following reports of an aggressive passenger causing a disturbance and damaging a city bus. Upon arrival, officers identified a suspect matching the description provided by witnesses and the driver.

Witnesses stated that after the bus completed its route, the man refused to disembark. He began shouting profanities at the driver and punched the bus window, shattering the glass and causing approximately 2,000 PLN in damages.

Arrest and Legal Consequences

During the arrest, the suspect continued to act aggressively and insulted the responding officers. A breathalyzer test revealed he had over 2.0 per mille of alcohol in his system. A check of police records further confirmed that the 59-year-old was a wanted fugitive with an outstanding prison sentence.

The man was detained in a police holding facility. Prosecutors from the Warsaw Mokotów District have charged him with property damage and insulting public officials, for which he faces up to five years in prison.
