Aggressive Patient Attacks Medical Rescuer in Siedlce Hospital Over Smoking Ban

A drunk patient attacked a medical rescuer in a Siedlce hospital after she confronted him for smoking.

A dangerous incident occurred on Tuesday evening, January 27, 2026, in one of the hospitals in Siedlce, involving a drunk patient. The 53-year-old resident of the Miński county, who was staying at the facility, violated the hospital’s smoking ban. When a medical rescuer confronted him about it, he became aggressive, insulting the woman and hitting her in the face with an empty alcohol bottle. Fortunately, the rescuer did not suffer serious injuries.

Police Response

A police patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene and detained the aggressive patient. The man was placed in a police cell to sober up and for further investigation of the case.

Legal Protection

Medical rescuers are legally protected as public officials while performing their duties. For insulting and assaulting a public official, a penalty of up to 3 years in prison is threatened. Authorities appeal for reasonableness, emotional control, and respect for healthcare workers who ensure everyone’s safety in medical facilities.
