A 17-year-old accused of armed robbery has been detained after stealing a jacket at knifepoint from two teenagers.
Arrest Details
Two days after the incident, the suspect accused of committing robbery with a dangerous tool was already in the hands of the criminal police. At the time of his arrest, he was wearing the jacket he had stolen from the victim while threatening with a knife.
Police secured a knife, brass knuckles, and phones from the 17-year-old, including one that was wanted in connection with a reported theft.
At the request of the Warsaw-Praga South District Prosecutor’s Office, he was temporarily detained.
Incident Report
A man came to the police station to report the robbery. A 13-year-old and a 16-year-old were attacked by a young man who, threatening with a knife, stole a jacket worth 700 Polish zlotys from the younger boy.
Investigation
The criminal police took steps, quickly obtained the necessary information, conducted several checks, and proceeded with the arrest. The 17-year-old was apprehended two days later in the area of the incident.
He was walking wearing the stolen jacket, with a knife and brass knuckles. Additionally, the criminal police secured cell phones, one of which was wanted by another police unit in connection with a reported theft.
Suspect’s Response
The arrested person pretended not to know what was going on or what the police were talking to him about, claiming he knew nothing about any robbery.
Legal Proceedings
On the basis of the collected evidence, the young man was charged with robbery using a dangerous tool and receiving stolen goods.
At the request of the Warsaw-Praga South District Prosecutor’s Office, the court applied a preventive measure against the suspect in the form of temporary detention.
