Early Results Show Progressive Bulgaria in the Lead
The Progressive Bulgaria coalition, led by Rumen Radev, secured 44.5% of the vote in Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections, according to data from the Central Election Commission released Monday after counting 78% of ballots.
Other Parties’ Performance
Trailing Progressive Bulgaria are the pro-Western Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria coalition (13.7%), GERB, the party of former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov (13.2%), DPS-New Beginning, associated with oligarch Delian Peevski (5.9%), and the nationalist Revival party (4.4%).
Election Timeline and Procedures
According to the Bulgarian Electoral Code, the Central Election Commission must announce the number of votes cast and the distribution of mandates within four days of the election. The names of the elected members of parliament will be announced within seven days.
Hopes for Stabilization
Commenting on the results, Radev stated he would do everything possible to avoid the need for another snap election in Bulgaria.

Sunday’s vote marked the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021, and the seventh snap election during that period.
