Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will meet with PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński on Monday, April 20th, to clarify certain issues and resolve communication challenges.
Morawiecki-Kaczyński Meeting Scheduled
Mateusz Morawiecki stated that the meeting with Jarosław Kaczyński will be an opportunity to “clarify certain things” in all respects. He anticipates a positive and constructive conversation aimed at resolving what he termed “communication turbulence.”
Morawiecki did not disclose the specific time of the meeting.
Tusk’s Political Shift and Morawiecki’s Position
Morawiecki asserted that Donald Tusk is attempting to move his political positioning towards the center-right, and he intends to prevent Tusk from occupying that space.
He emphasized his focus on serious center-right issues, particularly those related to the economy.
PiS Members Join Morawiecki’s Association
Several dozen politicians from the Law and Justice (PiS) party have joined the “Rozwój Plus” (Development Plus) association founded by Morawiecki. The association aims to broaden the party’s electorate.
Morawiecki noted that Kaczyński previously announced that individuals involved with the new initiative would not be included on PiS electoral lists.
Morawiecki Dismisses Concerns Over Electoral Lists
Morawiecki expressed unconcern regarding potential exclusion from PiS lists, believing that the activities of his association are fully consistent with the PiS statute.
He pointed out that Kaczyński and others had previously encouraged the formation of associations, citing the “Suwerenna Polska” (Sovereign Poland) group as an example.
“Rozwój Plus” as an Expert and Programmatic Association
Morawiecki described “Rozwój Plus” as an expert, programmatic, and local government association, not a competitor to PiS.
He expressed optimism about the outcome of his meeting with Kaczyński, anticipating “only good things.”
