Polish police dismantled an illegal car dismantling operation in Nowy Dwór County, arresting two men aged 41 and 47.
Operation Disrupts Vehicle Theft Ring
A multi-stage police operation targeting stolen vehicle dismantling led to the arrest of two men on a property in Nowy Dwór County.
Mokotów district police, analyzing information related to vehicle thefts and potential locations for stolen cars, identified the property as a possible site for dismantling vehicles into parts.
Stolen Vehicle and Equipment Recovered
Police discovered a partially disassembled Kia vehicle on the property, confirmed as stolen. Numerous car parts and license plates from other reported stolen vehicles were also seized.
A GPS signal jamming device, potentially used in the criminal operation, was also found during the search.
Seven Charges Filed, Suspects Detained
The two suspects were charged with seven counts of receiving stolen goods, related to assisting in concealing stolen vehicles.
Following a prosecutor’s request, a court ordered both suspects to be held in temporary custody for three months.
Investigation Ongoing
The suspects face up to five years in prison if convicted. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki is overseeing the investigation.
The case is ongoing, with police continuing to investigate all circumstances and potential involvement of other individuals.
