Cenckiewicz Demands Payment from Tusk Following Court Defeats

Sławomir Cenckiewicz is requesting over 5,500 złoty from Prime Minister Donald Tusk due to adverse court rulings, promising to donate the funds to pro-freedom organizations.

Cenckiewicz’s Demand for Payment

Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Head of the National Security Bureau, addressed Prime Minister Donald Tusk via X (formerly Twitter), stating that Tusk’s two court defeats – before the Provincial Administrative Court (June 17, 2025) and the Supreme Administrative Court (April 15, 2026) – present an opportunity to settle financial obligations.

Cenckiewicz stated he would “mercifully” refrain from seeking additional costs related to a near year-long delay in payment of the 5,576 złoty awarded by the Provincial Administrative Court in eight rulings from June 17, 2025, overturning eight unlawful decisions.

Further Costs Expected from Supreme Court Ruling

Cenckiewicz noted that the Supreme Administrative Court also imposed additional costs on Tusk, estimated to exceed 10,000 złoty.

Donation to Support Freedom of Speech

Cenckiewicz announced his intention to donate the funds awarded by the Provincial Administrative Court to the Republic Foundation and Republic Television, to support freedom of speech, which he claims Tusk consistently threatens.

He pledged to confirm receipt of the transfer and expressed gratitude in advance.

Supreme Administrative Court Ruling on Security Clearances

The Supreme Administrative Court on Wednesday dismissed appeals from the Prime Minister’s Office against the rulings of the Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw.

The Provincial Administrative Court had previously overturned decisions to revoke Sławomir Cenckiewicz’s security clearances granting access to classified information.

Access to Classified Information Not Automatically Restored

Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the Minister Coordinating Special Services, clarified that the Supreme Administrative Court’s ruling does not automatically reinstate Cenckiewicz’s access to classified information.

Dobrzyński emphasized that a control procedure, guided by the courts’ instructions, must be conducted.

Background of the Case

The case originated with a July 2024 decision by the Head of the Military Counterintelligence Service, Jarosław Stróżyk, to revoke Cenckiewicz’s security clearances.

The Prime Minister, as the second instance authority, upheld Stróżyk’s decision. Cenckiewicz appealed to the Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw in November 2024, which overturned both decisions on June 17, 2024. The Prime Minister’s Office subsequently filed cassation appeals with the Supreme Administrative Court against the June 2025 rulings.
