Majority of Gazeta.pl readers in Poland don’t attend religious services, according to a January 2026 survey.
Survey Shows Declining Church Attendance
A poll conducted by Gazeta.pl revealed that over half (54.85%) of respondents do not attend religious services. This response dominates all other options, indicating a significant distance from regular religious practices among the portal’s readers.
Regular Churchgoers Represent Minority
Almost 30% of voters in the Gazeta.pl survey declared regular church attendance, with 29.89% selecting this option. This result is notably lower than the percentage of people who do not participate in religious services at all.
Sporadic Participation Remains Rare
Only about 15% of survey participants chose the “sometimes” option, showing that occasional participation is significantly less popular than either complete absence or regular presence. This distribution of responses suggests an increasingly clear polarization of attitudes.
Reflecting Broader Social Trends
The survey results indicate a clear weakening of daily religious practices. The absence from religious services has become the dominant declaration, fitting into the social changes observed for years. While the survey is not nationally representative, it accurately reflects the moods among people actively following social and religious topics.
