Damaged infrastructure after collision; drivers told on 112 to write statement as police may not arrive

A collision near the Zesłańców Syberyjskich roundabout on October 19 left two cars and traffic signs damaged, and emergency callers were advised to write a statement as police might not attend.

Collision details

At about 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, a collision occurred at the Zesłańców Syberyjskich roundabout between an Opel and a Kia. The young Kia driver, heading from Dworca Zachodniego toward Pruszków, entered the intersection on a red light after misreading the signal and struck the side of the Opel, then a traffic pylon and signs. All parties were unharmed.

Emergency call response

When the driver called 112, operators informed them that police might not arrive or could be delayed, and they should prepare a statement. The operator was uninterested in the damaged traffic infrastructure. Following these instructions, the driver wrote a statement and the vehicle was towed; the damage to the infrastructure would be paid by drivers.

Impact on road safety

Damage to safety elements such as pylons, signs and barriers can pose direct danger. In urgent situations, the correct channel is 112, which reports incidents requiring rescue intervention. After filing, the police confirm the danger and notify the road manager to secure the site.
