Investigators conducted a post‑mortem on Monday, 10 November. No indications of a criminal act were found, and no third parties were involved, according to Police Inspector Jose Matos.

Where the Body Was Found

Officer Frederico Jesus said the body lay about 500 metres from a path along a canal near Boaventura, near the northern coast of Madeira, after difficult access due to the terrain.

Search and Rescue Effort

The 31‑year‑old was last seen on 2 November after communicating with family, promising to share his location with his sister, before the signal disappeared during a hike from São Vicente toward Pico Ruivo.

Family Tries to Restore Route Home

He planned to return to Santana, across the island, and missing reports triggered searches involving Polish authorities.
