A serious collision involving a delivery van and a semi-trailer truck on the S2 highway near Terespol on April 27th caused significant traffic disruptions.
Collision Details
On Monday, April 27th, before 9:00 AM, a delivery van collided with the rear of a semi-trailer truck on the S2 highway heading towards Terespol. The incident occurred near Gawota Street, before Puławska Street.
Initial findings indicate a rear-end collision. The delivery van impacted the rear of the semi-trailer’s trailer with considerable force, resulting in the van’s cabin being crushed.
Emergency Response and Injuries
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, despite the severity of the crash, no one sustained injuries requiring hospitalization.
The driver of the delivery van was examined by medical personnel but was not transported to a hospital.
Traffic Disruption and Clearance
Following medical operations, firefighters began removing the vehicles from the roadway. Initially, three lanes of the S2 highway were blocked, causing substantial traffic congestion.
The vehicles involved are now on the emergency lane before the exit to Puławska Street. Traffic is gradually resuming, but the resulting backlog will take time to clear.
