Driver Plunges Into Pond While Adjusting Car Radio

A 56-year-old Warsaw man lost control of his Mercedes and drove into a pond in Trzciniec yesterday morning after he became distracted while adjusting his vehicle’s radio.

Narrow Escape in Trzciniec

The incident occurred yesterday morning before 6:00 a.m. while the 56-year-old driver was traveling from Białowieża toward Trzciniec. As he negotiated a curve, he took his eyes off the road to adjust the radio, causing the vehicle to veer onto the shoulder and plunge into a local pond.

Vehicle Recovery and Legal Consequences

The driver managed to escape the submerged Mercedes on his own and did not require medical assistance. Firefighters were eventually called to the scene to recover the vehicle from the water using specialized equipment.

Police issued the driver a 500 PLN fine for the incident. Authorities are once again reminding motorists that full concentration is essential for safe driving and reaching one’s destination without incident.
