A Ford driver fleeing from police threw a cash-filled safe out of his car window.

Police from Piaseczna described an intervention that occurred in the Tarczyn commune near Warsaw (Masovian Voivodeship). The Ford driver, traveling at excessive speed, refused to stop for a road check. During the chase, he threw a cash-filled safe and a mobile phone out of his car window. Police quickly apprehended the man, identifying him as a 24-year-old resident of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

Stolen Items Found

Police found a hammer and license plates in the vehicle.

During a search of the 24-year-old’s car, police discovered a hammer and license plates reported as stolen. They also recovered the items thrown from the vehicle during the chase – a mobile phone and a safe containing 80,000 zloty. Police believe the suspect attempted to dispose of these items as they were also obtained through criminal activity.

Attempted Murder Charges

The man is now suspected of attempted murder.

It was revealed that the detained man was wanted by police from Warsaw and Zielonka in connection with an incident at a prestigious hotel. Officers reported that the 24-year-old entered the hotel with a knife in hand and attempted to kill one of the guests. Police determined that during the altercation, the victim was stabbed twice with the knife. The man has been charged with attempted murder, which carries a potential life sentence. The court, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, has ordered a three-month pre-trial detention for the suspect.
